How God put this Blog on my heart
Hey y’all! Welcome to my blog. I am so excited God led you to my page. God put this blog on my heart almost 8 years ago during a New Year’s Eve celebration. I was holding a friend’s newborn baby, and that is all I wanted to do with my evening. Sit and snuggle was on the agenda. I heard God speak the name of the blog over me, “The Girl Who Sees God” not really knowing what that looked like. Over time, He has confirmed it and helped me to develop it. One confirmation came through a friend sending me the scripture of Jesus healing the blind man. As read it, the Holy Spirit was so tangible. It was so special for Him to confirm “The Girl Who Sees God.” There is something special and necessary about being able to see God clearly. I am passionate about communicating the message about the depth of God’s love for you. It is a love like nothing else and will change you forever. I hope my blog inspires you to follow exactly where God is leading you. Following the Holy Spirit, I will do my very best to share that love with others in everyday life and written on these pages in a way that opens your eyes to the Lord. I am here to tell you that Jesus loves you more than anything I can ever put down on paper, but I’m going to try.
Meet Us
My name is Rae, and this is my family (heart eyes). My husband, Rocky, and I have been married almost 4 years now. We have Gabe (18), Dawson (3), and Belle (1). The only one missing in our family pic is our 3 year old chocolate lab, Gumbeaux. Rocky and I prayed for our family for a long time separately in our single season, and God really blessed us by bringing us together in His timing. We love dates at Lowes, working on home projects, and playing with our kids. We both have a passion for writing in a way that brings people closer to God. We are a regular family with a big heart for God and people. Everything good about our lives is, without question, a testament of God’s goodness.
Meet Rocky
Rocky and I met on a blind date set up by mutual friends about 5 years before we actually started dating. Ha! We reconnected through church and became friends, and even led a single’s small group together! God beautifully and in His timing opened the door for us to date, and we were married 6 months later, June 2020. We had a “covid wedding”, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I am beyond blessed to call Rocky my husband.
One of my favorite things about Rocky are his voices. He makes me laugh so much by doing these silly character voices. He is a very creative person. He loves writing and working on wood projects around the house. He wrote a children’s book to encourage young readers that God can use you in your weakness. Don’t we all need that message? Above everything, he loves us more than anything else. He is always looking out for our best interest, protecting us, and taking care of us. I love my sweetheart!

Meet Gabe
Gabe recently turned 18 years old and is graduating high school. He loves random scientific facts. He will literally walk into a room out of no where and spit out something about space or turtles. Like most teenagers, he loves playing video games with his friends. He is gentle spirited and has a sweet hearted demeanor. He is cautious (Thank God), and is kind. He opens doors and is willing to help out. We are blessed with a young gentleman.
Meet Dawson
Dawson is ALL boy. He is energetic, decisive, independent, silly, and adventurous. He is into cars, trucks, dinosaurs, tackling, and climbing. As rough and tough as he is, he is equally the sweetest little boy and melts our hearts daily. He will randomly walk up to give one of us a kiss. We find him kissing his little sister on top of her head often. He kisses bo bo’s and says “I got you” when someone is in a sticky situation. Dawson is the best of both worlds and I can’t imagine life without my little boy.
Meet Belle
We can already tell Belle is our free spirit girl. She loves to dance and has an affection for music. She makes the silliest noises (like her daddy!). She goes with the flow. As long as she is with her people, she is good. In the morning, she gives the longest hugs that make me melt. She is smart and chatty. Belle makes us laugh everyday. She is the sweetest girl!
Meet Gumbeaux
Goofy Gumbeaux will play fetch until he passes out. He lets our toddlers climb all over him and he is so gentle. He even befriends the ducks in our neighborhood. He loves going on rides with us to visit family and treats of course. And most importantly, he is goofy! He has the funniest run where he tucks his bottom when he gets too excited. We can’t help but laugh. We love our Bo Bo!
