“You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.” Song of Songs 4:7 NLT
My Child,
When I say you are beautiful, I mean it. Throw away comparison. I didn’t create hearts to compete. I created beauty to be like a song, each instrument lovely in its own right but magnificent when it all comes together. You, my darling, were created in my image. Just like a mother can’t stop looking at her newborn, I can’t take my eyes off of you. I am captivated by my creation. I know this world tells you differently. I know this world tells you that you are lacking something. That’s because the enemy is after your heart. But so am I.
I’m taking note when you’re kind to that stranger. I’m planting seeds as you pray for your children. I’m delighted when you look to me for guidance. I’m overjoyed by your creativity. I’m cheering you on to take that next hard step that I’ve asked you to take. I’m still proud when you do it scared and stumble, it’s cute. You’ll get better at it. I love those little quirky things that make you, you. I’m protecting your heart when I say no, just trust me. I want to comfort you when you are hurt. I see how hard you are trying. That is so beautiful to me.
What I need from you, my darling, is to prepare your beautiful heart in confidence. Just like this bride has prepared for her wedding day, confident that her groom is there. I want you to know that you can be certain that I am here. And I am never going to stand you up. Because I know just how beautiful and kind and creative and strong and patient my bride is. Just like your Papa. So believe me when I say that you are beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.
Love, Your Papa.
